A common question that we get is “How do I know which bracket I need for my project?” and honestly it is a simple one to approach by considering the dimensions of the wood slab and how you want it to interact with your bracket.

Here are 3 factors to consider when ordering a bracket:
#1 The backplate length should always be at least 2” shorter than the shelf, but also you should pick the biggest option available within that criteria.
#2 The rod length of the bracket should go at least halfway through the shelf but should leave at least 1 ½” of space for the end of the shelf
#3 The height of the backplate should be at least a ½” smaller than the shelf, and again, go with the biggest option available within that criteria.
*AN IMPORTANT NOTE
All of our brackets are 3/16" thick, so in order to ensure a snug fit for your shelf to the bracket, we recommend you route out at least 1/4" of space for the bracket, regardless of which one you pick.
